The U-13 tryouts are for players born in 1998 and will take place during the weekend of Oct 1-3rd at the Torbay Field. A detailed tryout schedule will be released on the NLSA website the week leading up to tryouts.

NLSA U-13 Provincial Teams will compete in the Atlantic Championships, tentatively scheduled for July 14-17th in Newfoundland. Training will be in camp format, meaning the team will gather in St. John’s for training weekends between December-July. The training commitment required is 100%.

NLSA Tryout Form and Player Contract, as well as the $35 tryout fee can be dropped off to the NLSA office, located at 31 Peet Street in St. John’s OR Mailed to P. O. Box 21029, St. John’s, NL, A1A 5B2. Exact change cash or cheque only please. Unfortunately the NLSA office does not have debit or credit card capabilities.

Please note, the deadline to register for tryouts will be 4:00pm on Monday, Sept 27th. All tryout registration forms and fees MUST be received prior to this deadline.

Malorie Harris had a very successful day scoring two goals in championship game including the winner, being named a Breen’s  Jubilee Trophy All Star,  and won the Top Goal Scorer Award as top goal scorer in the league with twenty nine goals in a twenty game schedule. Malorie was also MVP Regular season and MVP Playoffs

Holy Cross Kirby will now represent the province at the womens nationals October 6-11 in Prince Edward Island.

This was an excellent final and close right up to the 90th minute, Feildians came out strongly, showing little ill-effects from having played a tough semi-final the previous day. They marked leading scorer Malorie Harris tightly –  Nicole Smith was asked to take on that role and had a great game. The Holy Cross defence also played well and there were few scoring chances until the 21st minute when Malorie Harris found some space down the right side, cut into the penalty area and scored with a low left-foot shot. Feildians came back hard, however, and a long curling free kick was put home from close range by Hillary Hutton to tie the game up after 38 minutes. Both sides lost full-backs through injury but the defences held firm well into the second half until Malorie Harris scored her second, again with her left foot from a tight angle. Feildians pressed hard for an equalizer and had their chances. As time wound down, they pressed forward leaving themselves vulnerable to a quick break, and Nicole Adams took advantage of this to make it 3-1 after 90 minutes.
