Exploits shut out ASIA of St. Pierre 4-0 Sunday to earn the gold medal at the five-team 2009 Pepsi Cola Under-18 B boys soccer championships in Corner Brook. Hendrie Largao posted the shutout and Justin Barrett scored twice for the champions. Michael Vaters and Adriaan Mulder had one goal each.

Patrick Dyer scored two goals to pace Newfoundland and Labrador Under-16 boys soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Nova Scotia Sunday at the Canadian championships in Richmond, British Columbia. Tyler Forsey had the other goal for the winners who finished their competition with a 1-3 record.
Also at Richmond, the Under-14 boys club lost 6-0 to Nova Scotia after being blanked 2-0 by New Brunswick Saturday. The team finished with a 1-4 record. At Laval, Quebec the Under-14 girls got two goals from Jane Pope and edged New Brunswick 2-1. They were 1-4. The Under-16 girls were defeated 8-0 by Manitoba, and had a 1-3 showing.

Newfoundland and Labrador won a pair of bronze medals Sunday as the 2009 Atlantic Under-13 soccer championships concluded in Corner Brook. All four Atlantic provinces were entered in the three-day competition.
