Rivkin attends Canada U20 camp

Hannah Rivkin of St. John’s is one of 23 players invited to Canada’s women’s Under-20 team preparatory camp this January in Tampa, FL. The camp runs January 11 to 18 at the campus of University of South Florida. From this team, coach Carolina Morace will make her final selection for the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship in Cuidad , Guatemala. Rivkin has attended three previous camps and has progressed to this level despite the fact that she is two years younger than the majority of the other players.

US College Coaches to attend NTC-Atlantic Scouting Weekend

The next NTC-Atlantic scouting weekend will be held in Bridgewater, NS on the weekend of January 29-31st under the guidance of director Danny Worthington. Attending the weekend will be coahes from 5 American Universitites, as they will be apart of a coaching symposium put off by South Shore District Soccer in conjunction with the NTC weekend. As always, some Newfoundland players who are part of the RTC/NTC program will participate in the weekend. The NTC-Atlantic has been gaining more and more exposure as of late with the addition of 4 players from the center to Youth National teams. Our very own Hannah Rivkin of St. John’s, NL, Molly Allen of NS, and Dayle Colpitts of NB are all with the U20 women’s national team that will participate in the U-2o Women’s CONCACAF Championships later this month in Guatemala. This tournament will also act as a qualifier for the U-20 Women’s World Cup to be held in Germany in July. Victoria Parkinson of NS is also currently with the U-17 women’s national team who will also participate in the CONCACAF Championships in 2010.
