Lawn, Gander take Senior Men’s Intermediate titles

Lawn and Gander are the 2009 provincial intermediate male soccer champions. Both clubs emerged Sunday as winners from the title games of the Molson tournament that was played in St. John’s. Lawn took the “A” honors 2-1 over Conception Bay South in overtime while Gander edged Gonzaga 2-1 for the “B” title. Despite rain washing out Friday’s schedule the nine-team event was completed successfully. Jeremy Brenton had both Lawn goals, the winner three minutes into extra time. Matt Foote tied the game for Conception Bay South late in regulation time.
